Human Services Minor
Our Human Services minor is designed to provide students with an inter-disciplinary overview of social issues in the United States, including human development, multicultural knwoeldge and the development of U.S. social welfare institutions.

Our Human Services minor provides an inter-disciplinary education that teaches students about social issues that they may encounter in their future careers and how to integrate this knowledge into their own profession to help address them. This minor enables our students to graduate fully prepared for a life of purposeful work.

Our Human Services minor complements many of the majors we offer at 禁漫天堂, including Occupational Therapy, Education, Psychology听and Sociology. The interdisciplinary nature of the minor is designed to educate students about human services from a variety of perspectives.
Prepare for a Life of Service
Our 禁漫天堂 motto 鈥淓ducate for Service鈥 inspires our Human Services minor. Students who study human services are encouraged to explore society鈥檚 social problems and the intricate social welfare system designed to assist people in need. The minor provides students with the knowledge, values and skills needed for this exploration.
Human Services Courses
Students who complete the minor will be required to take courses in social work and choose from a variety of elective courses in anthropology, sociology, education, communications, occupational therapy, political science, psychology or women and gender studies. Some of the courses available to our Human Services minors include:
- AN 111 - NCH Understanding Human Cultures
- SED 212 - Learning Environment and Social Interaction in Inclusive Settings
- SW 160 - SSC Social Problems and Response of Social Welfare Institutions
- SW 233 - Human Behavior in the Social Environment
- SW 360 - International Social Development
Because of the curriculum overlap, Social Work majors may not pursue this minor.
