Dr. Swartzendruber is Director of the Exercise Science program at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. He has been a certified professional in the field of Exercise Science since 1999, having worked as a personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, fitness facility director, exercise physiologist and research assistant, and professor of exercise science. Dr. Swartzendruber earned his Doctorate in Health Education from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences along with his Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Bachelor of Science in Health & Physical Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) PA State Advisory Board.
Dr. Emily Dietz

Dr. Dietz is the Head Athletic Trainer at ½ûÂþÌìÌà as well as an adjunct professor for the Exercise Science Program. She has been a certified athletic trainer (ATC) since 2008 and has worked with varying levels of athletics throughout her career, including professional, DI and DII collegiate, High school, industrial, and elementary aged athletes. Dr. Dietz has taught multiple courses within the exercise science world, including therapeutic interventions, research and statistics, and introduction to sports medicine. Along with teaching she has multiple published articles and has presented at professional conferences throughout the United States. Dr. Dietz earned her Doctorate of Athletic Training from the University of Idaho, her Masters of Science in Athletic Training from West Virginia University, and her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine form Mercyhurst University.
Joni Eisenhauer

Joni joined ½ûÂþÌìÌà in November 2017. She has over 15 years of experience in public health, educating both individuals and groups on various topics including nutrition, tobacco cessation, STI education/prevention, women’s reproductive health and more. Most recently, she held the role of Clinical Health Coach at Pinnacle Health’s Lebanon Valley Advanced Care Center guiding patients to healthier lifestyles by making dietary recommendations and/or smoking cessation techniques. Joni earned her B.S. degree in Health Science and Sociology from Lebanon Valley College and recently earned a M.S. degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. Joni believes wellness is based on bio individuality, meaning it will look and feel different to each one of us. She believes in empowering individuals by providing various tools in order for them to find and achieve their personal ideal definition of wellness. Joni is excited to use her experience and knowledge to enhance and create wellness programs at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. Joni oversees the Student Wellness Advocacy Group (SWAG), The WELL, and the Demonstration Kitchen.

Christopher (Chris) Sanders serves as a Lecturer and the Field Experience Coordinator for the Exercise Science program at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. A native of Illinois, Chris joined the faculty of E-Town in the fall 2023 after teaching in New Mexico and Texas over the past five years. Prior to his career in academia, Chris worked as a gymnastics coach at multiple clubs throughout the United States. In addition to coaching, he has experience as a graduate research and teaching assistant, personal trainer, and licensed massage therapist. Chris earned his B.S. and M.S. in Health and Physical Education from Illinois State University.
