January New Student Orientation

Starting with check-in day, we welcome new students to campus as they begin their Blue Jay journey. Many ½ûÂþÌìÌà traditions are a part of New Student Orientation. Peer Mentors guide students through this information-filled and fun weekend as we strive to create a home away from home where every student belongs and thrives.

Check-in/Move-in Day: January 11, 2025

Residential Students: January 11, 12-2 pm

  • New residential students should arrive at ourÌý during this time to check-in. You'll receive your CollegeÌýID card, room key, and welcome packet.
  • You will be directed to your residence hall to unload your vehicle and then unpack and set up your room.
  • New students and families are invited to participate in a campus tour at 3:30 pm and our dinner and welcome event at 5 pm.

Commuting Students: January 11 or 12

  • New commuting students can check-in on January 11 from 12-2 pm at ourÌý. You'll receive your College ID at check-in. New students and families are invited to participate in a campus tour at 3:30 pm and our dinner and welcome event at 5 pm.
  • New commuting students can also check-in on January 12 at the mandatory orientation sessions at 2 pm inÌý, room 110,

New Student Orientation: January 11-12, 2025

Students begin making their ½ûÂþÌìÌà memories during this weekend, and we can't wait to have you on campus!Ìý You'll meet your peers, learn more about our resources and policies, and familiarize yourself with campus so you're ready to start classes. All new students, including new transfer students, are encouraged to participate in orientation (some sessions are mandatory).ÌýYou can find the schedule below.

January 11
12-2 p.m. Check in at Campus Safety & move into residence hall (residential students)
3:30 p.m. Optional campus tour for new students & families, meet at Campus Safety
5 p.m. Dinner & Welcome for new students & families, Brossman Commons, KAVÌý Ìý*Families will depart after this event
7:30 p.m. ½ûÂþÌìÌà Tips and Tricks and Social Event
January 12
1 p.m. Campus tour to find classrooms, led by peer mentors
2-5 p.m. Blue Jay Community* (diversity, equity, and belonging, Title IX, student expectations, campus electronic tools), Hoover Center, room 110
5:30 p.m. Dinner
7-9 p.m. IT Help Desk Open
7:30 p.m. Social Event

*event is mandatory for all new students
