Foundation & Corporate Giving
Supporting ½ûÂþÌìÌà as a Foundation or Corporation
½ûÂþÌìÌà enjoys support from a wide range of foundations and corporations. Institutional Advancement works in collaboration with the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs and campus partners to develop relationships that cultivate, secure, and steward external grant funding (scholarships, capital gifts, sponsorships, and matching gifts).
½ûÂþÌìÌÃ’s top priorities include scholarship funding, student signature learning experiences (internships, research, study abroad, community service, and capstone projects), faculty programs, capital needs, and connecting employers with our talented students.
There are many ways that your organization can engage with ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and encourage you to contact Lesley Finney, Executive Director of Foundation, Corporate & Government Grants, and/or the staff noted below for specific programs.

½ûÂþÌìÌà is an approved Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) and utilizes EITC funding to support our Science in Motion (SIM) program. SIM provides middle and high school students from area school districts with access to and training on research-quality equipment used for hands-on, inquiry-based lab exercises in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, environmental education, robotics, and general STEM.
What is it?
The EITC program provides companies with a direct tax credit of up to 90% for a two-year commitment toward the amount a business owes in state taxes. The program leaves companies with a much smaller state tax bill while providing educational resources and programming to thousands of students and teachers in our region.
How does it work?
Companies receive a 75% tax credit for a one-year commitment and a 90% tax credit for a two-year commitment. Companies then owe state taxes of either 25% or 10%. The process is as follows:
- Company registers online and submits the form available at . The company designates ½ûÂþÌìÌà as an EIO on the Commitment Selections section.
- Company receives approval and has 60 days to make the donation to Etown.
- ½ûÂþÌìÌà promptly provides an official receipt to the company.
- Company has 90 days to submit the proof of contribution receipt letter from ½ûÂþÌìÌà to the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
