Pre-Optometry Affiliation Programs
½ûÂþÌìÌà has an agreement with Salus University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry that allows students to apply to the Doctor of Optometry Program in their second year. To qualify, students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and complete the required chemistry, physics, and biology courses, earning a grade of C or higher. If accepted, students start the program after their third year, with a minimum of 90 semester hours. After completing their first year at Salus, transfer credits are applied towards ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ's Biology - Health Professions B.S. degree. Core requirements should be completed during the three years at ½ûÂþÌìÌà before starting courses at Salus. Current ½ûÂþÌìÌà students can apply in their second year by contacting the Health Professions Advisory Committee. Salus University will inform ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ's HPAC and the student of their provisional acceptance status following an interview.
